GMCG is pleased to announce that we are expanding our vision and investment ventures to the South Carolina market. We are introducing our investors to the city of Greenville, which is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, and is currently experiencing booming, economic growth. GMCG’s future commercial project in Greenville involves a seven-acre parcel located at 246 N. Pleasantburg Drive, just one exit from downtown off I-385. The parcel is the former site of the beloved Phoenix Inn, a historic 190-room hotel. The large, flat, well-positioned parcel sits perched upon a hilltop, overlooking Pleasantburg Drive. The property is adjacent to the TD Convention Center, and the Greenville Downtown Airport.
The city of Greenville is home to numerous domestic and international business and manufacturing companies, and has recently seen a substantial increase in the number companies relocating their headquarters to Greenville County. Greenville has also attracted national attention over the past few years, due to its ranking on various “Top Ten” lists such as “Top 10 Best Cities to Live”, “Top 10 Places to Retire”, “Top 10 Micro American Cities of the Future”, “Top Cities with the Greatest Capacity for Innovation”, “15 Best Cities for Young Adults”, “2015’s Hottest Vacation Destinations”, and “Best Places to Live in the United States”.
Greenville’s vibrant downtown is a popular destination for shopping, dining and entertainment. The city hosts numerous festivals each year, and is known for its treelined streets, outdoor plazas and sidewalk dining. Livability recently ranked it one of the “Top 10 Best Downtowns” in the country, and The New York Times called Greenville “a national model for a pedestrian-friendly city center.”
As decisions are made and plans for development are finalized, progress updates will be posted. Stay tuned!
